Untitled

Undeserving of love
Or care
She cowers there
Hands clasped together
Around her tucked up knees
Looking away from me
Closed off
Seemingly unwanting help
Seemingly unwanting care
Her breath is shallow and almost non existent
I say her name
She doesn’t respond
Or recognise the sound
She stirs slightly
Her head turning towards me
One hand moving up to try and wipe away the overflowing tears that are flowing down her face
I move towards her
Kneeling in front of her
I take her small hands in mine
Close my eyes
And pray slightly for her comfort
Suddenly she pulls her hands from mine
Uncovering herself from the shell she first appeared in
Cowering no more
She grasps on to my hands
And whispers sorry
I embrace her as she cries
My love surrounding her
Her tears letting out the pain that used to pulsate around her
She seemed to be free
